Navy maxi skirt

As I didn't had any maxi skirts I decided that it was time to put all that chiffon I had into good use. So I made a really easy maxi skirt with an elastic waist band.

You can find the tutorial here.

How to make your own labels

Finally, here it is: how to make your own labels tutorial.

It's a very easy thing to do, but it requires some time. Of course there is an easier and cleaner way to do your labels using Spoonflower (I found a tutorials on this some time ago. I will link it later) but I'm always afraid that I will pay much more on the shipping fare than the product it self.

So here it goes, my way on making labels.

Materials needed: the stamp of your brand, fabric paint and an ink pad. I've had my stamp done professionally and because it has different from normal dimensions I couldn't find an empty ink pad to fit it, so I asked my father-in-law to make me a custom ink pad. As for the fabric paint I used the left over of the black paint I used for making the moustaches on my moustache dress.

Laurel blouse - progress

So...here I was, all ready to start sewing my blouse, thinking about how to do the french seams, and then...hubby fell asleep...hmmmm....I couldn't just take the sewing machine and make a lot of noise...what a bummer...

And I said to my self: "what to do in complete silence so I won't wake hubby up???". And it hit me: bias binding!!! So I took my fabric out, found the tutorial on how to do continuous bias binding and got to work on it.

DIY sewing helpers

Hy guys, sorry for being AWOL these days but Pinterest got me hooked. I found some good inspiration and some new things to do.
I found out that you can make your own tailor's ham and sausage, and I did mine. Here's for the road to professional sewing!!!!!!
A tailor's ham is used when pressing curved seams (ex. bust seam) and the tailor's sausage is for sliping into a sleeve to pres open the seam (at any point where your seam won't lay flat).
